No actual experience with one myself.=C2=A0 I did own an AT4033a at one tim=
e, but sold it to fund my current field recorder.=C2=A0 And never had the o=
pportunity to use it outdoors.=C2=A0 (or nerve).=C2=A0 But what I've heard =
is that they can become dull sounding and even cut in and out at times when=
less than dry.=C2=A0 But that's mainly with vocalists breathing on them.=
=C2=A0 There's a light trick where you sit them next to an incandescent lig=
ht for about an hour to dry them out.=C2=A0 And one advantage is that their=
form factor allows you to fly them upside down to offer some limited prote=
ction of the mic element from rain.=C2=A0 Not that you should fly them in s=
uch conditions.
