I wonder if you know about 'The Wallace Line'?

In general this line marks a divide between Australian flora and fauna to t=
he east and the quite distinct Asian flora and fauna to the west.

Even though Australia now sees itself, politically, as part of Asia, it has=
 a separate ecosystem.
