Thanks, Paul. I added this concern to the FAQ. The writing sound was
not present in the NH700, NH900 and RH-910. I think the RH-10 was
fine too. Patrick might want to check the Hi-MD users list about the
RH1 cousin MZM200 if he decides to go with Hi-MD.

If taking this approach, Patrick might want to look again at the Zoom
H2 :-). External pres of comparable quality to the Hi-MD's mic pre
with phantom bust his budget pretty bad. Rob D.
