The mics are rated with 21 dB(A) self-noise and their sensitivity is 
on the low side, so you're not going to be producing "hiss" free 
samples of low sound level material with _any_ mic pre. However, if 
the sounds you are sampling are robust so the pre amp gain required 
is low, you could probably use one of the many >$150 pres/standalone 
audio interfaces with line outs..   There are a bunch of small, 
desktop mixers out now.  Some of the lower cost interfaces have line 
outputs. We discussed a standalone interface months ago that had line 
outputs and was DC power-able. Wasn't real quiet should you have to 
crank-up the gain, but if low noise is what you need for softer sound 
sources, then you might be wise to upgrade your mics first. Rob D.
