Hello,
I took my SD 722 recorder out hiking this weekend. The battery was
running low, so I was turning it on and off to save power. I attempted
to turn it on and it froze at the SD logo start-up screen. There was
nothing I could do but take the battery out. The preamps, didn't seem to
be running; it was emitting no sound what-so-ever. After taking the
battery out, I unplugged the mics (MKH 30/40) and headphones and turned
it on again. Eveything fine. I noticed that the voltage was reading
Message: 7.
Subject: 2V. That is about as low as I've taken it, so I figured that the
battery was too low to power everything up correctly. The 722 is running
fine at 7.2V for playback. The manual states:
"When the battery drops to 6.5 V, the LCD voltage display and the power
LED begin =EF=AC=82ashing to warn
that the battery is nearly depleted. When the voltage reaches 6.3 volts
the 722 will power down=E2=80=94any
recordings in-process will automatically be closed (stopped). "
Is that statement correct?
How low have people taken the voltage with two condensers plugged in and
still had the unit record?
Thanks,
Charles
