<<Apparently new Rode mics are now shipping with a spacer fitted inside the XLR socket. This is to allow a tighter fit on poor quality XLR connectors. Some users are having trouble fitting good XLR connectors because of it.>> Neumann has been doing this for many years, to eliminate any rattling from loose connections. I find none of my Switchcraft or Neutrik connectors latch onto the mic with the spacer in place. Scott Fraser |
