Thanks all, good note on the left channel, I had 'thought' both setting wer=
e the same when=A0I began the recording.=A0I=A0saw=A0 this difference=A0in =
audacity when=A0I looked at both channels. I find the fostex a great record=
er but...=A0getting the setting for each channel a bit challenging. I=A0usu=
ally look at the positioning of the mic trim. Is there a better way? The ro=
de nt4 is a nice mic, but not sensitive enough for my liking. I add quite a=
 bit of gain for each recording, unless you are really close to something. =
I am still very much learning this wonderful craft...

ps.. I recorded this yesterday, a logging truck passing through a=A0'game s=
anctuary'. I looked at it on a spectrogram and saw there was definitely an =
increase in bird=A0agitation - as the thing passed by. I don't think we wou=
ld normally hear this kind of thing.
