OK, the freesound sample was two vixens competing for males in an urban sit=
uation, food might be plentiful there. I have no experience at all of foxes=
in urban settings but I do have experience in rural areas and when they ar=
e looking for food and/or mates they cover a very large area in the country=
side. I remember collecting the cows for milking very early in the morning =
at this time of year and hearing vixens calling and covering a lot of groun=
d very quickly.
