Hi everyone,
=A0
I just joined this group=A0after=A0learning of its existence through=A0an I=
nternet search.=A0 I am hoping to=A0learn more about field recording techni=
ques and equipment from the group's members.=A0=A0I already have two sets o=
f=A0questions (general questions and specific questions) I would like to as=
k, but let me=A0introduce myself first.
=A0
I live in Colorado and spend=A0my free time hiking.=A0=A0My interest in fie=
ld recording stems from=A0a=A0desire to capture the sounds (biophonies and =
geophonies) of=A0some=A0of the places I visit.=A0 However, I don't know muc=
h about field recording.=A0 I=A0decided to begin by reading Bernie Krause's=
 Wild=A0Soundscapes, which=A0I=A0thoroughly enjoyed.
=A0
My equipment=A0is relatively basic: a Sony PCM-D50 digital audio recorder, =
a=A0Sony=A0ECM-957Pro microphone, and Sony MDR-7506 headphones.=A0 Had I kn=
own more=A0before my purchase, I probably would have gone with a recorder=
=A0that has=A0XLR mic inputs.=A0 But for the time being, this will have to =
be my main setup (though I will=A0likely=A0also purchase=A0a hydrophone and=
/or a=A0lavaliere mic=A0for reasons I'll describe in a later email).
=A0
In any event, I hope to learn more from=A0this group.
=A0
