<<and unclear if you can use them at the same time, or, in fact, if it will record four-channel surround (though I certainly assume so!)...>> The blurb referred to it as a stereo recorder & the picture shows only left & right channel metering, so my thought is probably not likely to record other than two channels. I don't get the piggy-backed aspect of the "XY" pairs, although I suspect that will become clear when an English language version is available, but I notice that what they call XY is not really coincident, but rather a "near XY" configuration, with obvious acoustic shadowing at the outside of the panorama.
