The cayman islands are set in the beautiful West Indies, temperature
is basically consistent all year round with high=92s in the 80=92s and
lows in the high 70=92s. September is a great time for amazing
thunderstorms. Here we have the start of such high on the west of the
islands around Barker=92s National park.
Bananaquit, green heron, northern mockingbird, west indian woodpecker,
northern flicker sing to the tune of the weather. Cicada sound off
their electrical power-line sounds across the landscape.
Recorded with SD 788t with mkh-40/30 microphones in an MS pattern.
Microphones are protected with a Rycote windjammer, tripod mounted.
Original recording was made at 44.1k 24 bit and re-sampled here to mp3.
Recordist Martyn Stewart.
