Like many people, I'm waiting on Sennheiser to release the MKH 8030 or tell us
it officially does not exist. Starting to feel like a bunch of UFO watchers
hanging around Area 51 :)
Anyway the time has come - I need a clean & quiet m/s setup.
We have other mics at our disposal (RSM 191 AS, CSS-5).
I want quiet, dependable, rock-solid, weatherproof mics.
Should I just buy an MKH 30 & an MKH 40 and be done with it...
or should I go with the MKH 30 & go with a MKH 8040, that way I have one foot
in the future.
Are they (MKH 30 & MKH 8040) a good match sonically?
Is the 8040 as durable and quiet as the MKH 40?
Thanks in advance, love to hear what you lot have to say.
And BTW, I'm 1/2 sound designer & 1/2 half nature recordist.
Take care and carry some citronella...
And, BTW, which Blimp will fit piggy backed mics comfortably?
Thanks!
