Most of the net books use the same Intel Atom CPU which is ok but pretty under
powered. HP released a netbook, DV2, with a new AMD processor, the Neo, that is
a step up from the Atom. I was able to use the DV2 for a few days and can
attest to the faster processor. It is closer to the preformance of the Macbook
Air than the EEE pcs. I did some basic test includeing running my EEE 1001 and
the HP side by side doing some file conversions in Audacity and the HP smoked
the EEE. That said the HP is a 12 screen so it is a little bigger but weighs
about the same. The keyboard is bigger which is a good thing. It does use more
power so the battery life is less I would suspect but I never tested this and
the HP cost aboud $550 so it runs a bit higher, but if I was to buy a new net
book it would be the HP.
