The Rycote dead cat for LS-10 arrived...

After fiddling with my own fur and not really coming up with anything that
made me happy, I broke down and ordered the Rycote dead
cat...er...mouse...well, mice, for the LS-10. They are two really, really
small fur softies that fit over the regular black foam windscreens.

So far I've determined that they work at least as well as anything I made
and fit better. Compared to the regular windscreens make a pretty
significant difference - I don't know where my home made wind cover went.
I'm happy with them.

However, I think using them renders the padded case that comes with the
LS-10 unworkable. It was tight with the regular windscreens on, and the dea=
d
mice will only make it tighter and the fur is bound to jam up the zipper.
I'll have to find something else, or just use the silicone stretch case
they're selling now.

If anyone would like specific tests or information, I'll be happy to take a
picture or experiment.
