Grant, I always get my mics up when wind permits, as suggested by Walt Knap=
p. I have a 15 foot telescoping extension for my tripod (Bogen 3221), and w=
eight the base with a sandbag or whatever, for stability. If I'm remote wit=
h no tripod I carry a light line to throw over a tree branch to suspend the=
 mics.
