Hi Klas--
Do you mean iTunes for your iPod? If so, no, iTunes won't run without
QuickTime installed. You also can't access the iTunes store without
QT.

Lots and lots of folks use iTunes on their PC's to play music-- often
running it in the background while they use several other apps at the
same time. It should not be as CPU intensive as you describe. Sounds
like something is astray with the install or other settings.

How old is your computer? What version of Windows are your running?
What version of QT did you install? Rob D.
