I was not far from there in 1983, three years before the chemobyl disaster and recorded some ambient stuff for programs. It would be interesting after 23 years what the soundscape sounds like today. I think restrictions are lifted heavily nowadays, I carried identity around with me at all times and was asked everyday for it. I was there in the spring though, in September the seasons change extremely fast. I think you would have little problem.
