Hi everyone, Here is a recording of a male Phainopepla (Phainopepla nitens) made in cent= ral Arizona. The bird is calling from a high perch about 110 ft away. The v= ocalizations are the "pretty bird" call followed by a raspy call. This is r= epeated for the first half of the recording. The second half is a series of= sub song murmurs. There was a great deal of road noise in the original rec= ording, which was removed by filtering and noise reduction using Adobe Audi= tion 1.5. The file can be found in the Naturerecordists file area. The "Files" URL ne= ar the bottom of the page will take you to the Yahoo sign in web page. Afte= r signing in the Naturerecording file page will appear. This is a copy of the file as it is shown on the web page: |
