Thanx Dan the 702 0 VU value is adjustable, but I think the default, as you say, is s= et to -20. I've seen a SPL Meter being used by an audio guy to set his levels much lik= e a photographer would use a light meter (or perhaps as a reference for lat= er mastering) is this a normal practice? Since this thread started as a 302 question, I'll add a further 'mixer' que= stion to the mix (so to speak) I'm looking at getting an 8 channel firewire pre/mixer for my laptop for so= me different recording I want to do. I also may use it with the 702. I've l= ooked everywhere online to find the use of the AES/SPDIF input on the 702 w= ithout success. If my firewire pre-amp/mixer has AES/SPDIF out, is this the= best way to connect it to a 702? If this needs to be started as a fresh topic, let me know. John |
