Dynamic mics have no self-noise, just a low output level so when you=A0
turn up the preamp gain you get more preamp noise.
I assume you meant "quite noisy" not quiet noisy...
Why? Because they could, I suppose. No idea what they used the D900=A0
for. Basically it is obsolete for our purposes here. There was a time=A0
when phantom power was the exception rather than the rule, and=A0
condenser mics were large and heavy...
