To add comments regarding the Edirol recorder:-
The Edirol R09HR will also split at a set file size, e.g 512 Mb, this is very
handy when
recording wav/96Khz for further analysis in Baudline, one of baudlines short
falls is that it
loads the whole sound file to memory, if the file is larger than available
memory it will fail.
You can get around that by piping the file in and hitting record, but for the
purpose of this
discussion splitting the recording into smaller chuncks IN the recorder is a
welcome
feature.
