John,
I didn't realise you had the same owl. The photo in Wiki looks just the
same as my own photographs. I live a lot closer to the bush (50 metres
actually) so often at night there is a morepork outside the back door,
looking for moths in the porchlight.
Though, strangely, all the calling at night seems to be from distant
birds, and not my local ones.
