Its that time of year where I spend time reviewing the season's recordings, looking through my collection, editing and sorting. I am very aware that I have very few owl recordings and maybe I need to target them. Since walking in the woods in the pitch dark is less rewarding than in daylight I would like to make such an exercise as efficient as possible and was wondering whether any members of the group can give me some pointers on the months and time of night that may represent owl calling peak activity in Europe. I am guessing that the Dec - April period might be it, but if someone has some experience I'd love to hear it. Many thanks Chris |
