  I beleive there can be a large difference in cable quality. Cheaper
wire can have less strands a thinner shield and can be unflexable.
Connectors also can be made of softer metal and badly soldered. This
results in cable that wont be reliable in the field. Unscrewing a
connector will reveal all the above. In general neutrik and switchcraft
connectors are good and various cable including mogami ,belden, VDH
Pirahna and no doubt many others. You get what you pay for to a point
then it becomes hifi tomfoolery. But dont be fooled by the once bitten
crew, investigate yourself.
