Let us know how it works out as it should make a neat combination, a handy =
pocket recorder in one instance and a recorder for use with a high quality =
mic pre amp in another, what more could anyone want?

The thing to watch is the MixPre will probably put out the full 'profession=
al' level of 0dbv which is usually .775 of a volt and the Olympus has a quo=
ted input of -6db below that, so in fact there should be more than enough c=
oming out of the MixPre to feed the Olympus line input. There is a dedicate=
d 'tape out' on the MixPre which is a 3.5mm jack so if you don't have any p=
roblems with having enough gain then that would be the way to go. Overall t=
here is slightly less gain out of the tape out as opposed to its line out o=
n the MicPre, so if you have very insensitive mic's you may possibly need t=
o use the line out to squeeze out that last bit, but I would have thought y=
ou would be OK with most microphones. Plus you can always raise the input l=
evel on the Olympus if needed I would have thought.
