ANWR (The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge)

I don't want to start a thread about George Bush and how many days we
have left until he leaves so please, no comments on this.

I heard today that the President is pleading with congress to open up
the arctic national wildlife refuge (ANWR) for oil drilling. As many
members know in these groups, the Arctic is close to my heart and we
all know what drilling in the arctic amounts to. To ask congress to
drill because of the price of petrol is ludicrous, On present day
consumption the amount of oil in ANWR would amount to 6 months supply.
To open up ANWR would be catastrophic. Please in your heart of hearts
make your voice count by urging your representative to always vote
against opening up this amazing place. We need to focus on an
alternative fuel source and renewable energy.

As I said, this is not a license to go "Bush Bashing" I have strong
thoughts about this administration but this is not the place to tell
you what they are.
All I ask is this, We need at least one place in this world to be left
untouched, Leave at least one part of this planet to the critters....
It's a great place to Record.....
