Dear all,

Sorry for bringing a slightly different topic or one you might have discuss=
ed already and I missed, but I'm interested in comparing the reliability of=
the PCM-D50 and the FR-2LE for working under constant hard field condition=
s (rainy cloud tropical cloud forests). Is there is any good protecting car=
rying case for the PCM-D50? If so, how does it compare to the Fostex FR-2LE=
case? How ergonomic and accessible are the different functions when operat=
ing the recorder from these cases? I understand that the PCM-D50 seems to b=
e more solidly built, but the Fostex FR-2LE internal construction seems goo=
d too. How do they compare in that respect? Also, I always trusted the dura=
bility of XLR mic inputs in field recorders, and so its mic input jack make=
s me worry about the PCM-D50. Is that really a disadvantage to worry about?=
I also appreciate any insights on battery life between these two nice reco=
rders.

Thanks for any insights,
Andres.
