Severely band-pass filtered 2K-5K. Behind the screeching jays (Stellar's?) are two rattling calls. One centers around 2.4KHz, the other, more tonal, around 2.7KHz. Can anyone identify the species? Is the more tonal call a frog? Between here and the Merced river I think I heard three calls with the same rhythm but different species. Is rattle the right word? How do birders describe this kind of rapid- repeating call? -Dan Dugan |
