I read the recent posts on this too, and maybe its not the same, but I
have travelled through many many airports (not that many in the US I
admit - mostly Europe, Africa, Asia)) with one and often two spare
Lithium-ion batteries for my laptop in my carry-on bag. Despite many
detailed searches (and scoldings for the junk I carry!) my batteries
have never warranted a second look.
