INTRODUCTION TO NATURE SOUND RECORDING
Speaker: Dan Dugan, Nature Sounds Society
Interested in learning about sound recording? Interested in nature?
Dan Dugan will bring art and science together in this talk for
everyone who loves the outdoors. Topics will include the many
purposes for nature recording, the wide range of subjects to record,
and the two basic styles of nature recording. He will discuss the
relationship of nature recording to conservation and our national
parks. Different types of equipment, from beginner to professional,
will be demonstrated, and there will be an opportunity to listen to a
variety of systems outdoors.

listening party, a Tech Talk, and occasional field recording
excursions.
The organization is composed of biologists, museum professionals,
birders, conservationists, sound designers, musicians, filmmakers,
artists and radio producers interested in natural sounds.
