I humbly suggest you do not try to alter animals behavior with
altered sounds played back to them. The most extreme example of this
is the recent tiger who killed his teaser in San Francisco (extreme
example, I know...) - why would you want to? Kind of like teasing
monkeys.

Birds have enough to deal with, with the noises of civilization all
around.

A funnel will color the sound, most likely in awful ways, especially
with a lo-fi mic. The point of a parabola is gathering sound, not
altering it. A conical reflector will have resonances at particular
frequencies. Maybe that is what is wanted??

One opinion,

supplied with plastic funnel (about 10cm diameter) instead of

transform (alter) the signal or it's quality seriously, so when
played back to males it could change their behaviour. Any suggestions
welcomed. Thank you.
