Oh, and to answer your question, I've been down to cottonwood spring, but this recording was actually made somewhere close to the west entrance of the park -- I remember it being a small turn off before you get to a lot of campsites. Maybe near the Hidden Valley turnoff, but it wasn't a campsite. Just small turnoff with a place to park.
