Perhaps the idea behind the two capsules is to get extended dynamic
range from the dynamic element and high-end "bite" on the slap from
the condenser element. Has two outputs. I guess it would require four
channels to record stereo.
I see that the self-noise for the condenser element is rated at 68
dB, 1 kHz at 1 Pa or 26dB(A). The sensitivity is 3.5 mV)/Pa.
Self-noise of 16dB(A) and sensitivity of at least 10mV/Pa might be
regarded as borderline performance for recording ambience in quiet
locations. There are always surprises but it seems unlikely this will
be one. Very well suited for loud sounds,.. 148 dB SPL. On the
other hand, I'd like to see better low-end response in a mic for a
bass drum,.. Rob D.
