Hi Gianni
The 'pad' is not actually in the microphone rather it is in the 5 pole xlr =
to 3.5mm jack converter sold by Rode for the NT4.
Here have a look at Rob's info:
http://www.uwm.edu/~type/audio-reports/Rode_NT-4_Cable_Mod/NT-4_CableMod-in=
dex.htm
Looking at Rob's microphone data sheet:
http://www.uwm.edu/~type/audio-reports/MicSpecCharts/MicNoiseSensv01.htm
The Rode NT4 has a self noise of 16dB(A) and 12mV/Pa.
Hope that helps.
Phil

Subject: [Nature Recordists] NT4 attenuation PAD
Hi all,
what happens to a Rode NT4 when removing the attenuation pad ?
what performances (sensitivity and self noise) I could attend with
the modification ?
is it suitable for nature recording ?
Gianni
