Hey Conner,

I recently made a similar plunge and was also looking for MS
monitoring. I even went as far as breadboarding a decoding matrix to
build my own, since there is a serious lack of small hardware devices
(affordable ones, that is). In the end, I record and monitor in
undecoded MS. Its not as disorienting as you think that it would be.
Since one channel is the direct signal, you use that one to orient
toward a sound source. All the rest is done in the post.

That being said, if you do come across a small affordable MS decoder
box, I would love to have one myself.
