Hi Bruce,
It has an optical (SPDIF) input in the form of an 1/8" jack that uses
the line input.
According to the specs it has 16 & 24 bit operation. Lou is correct
there is a overpriced $500US option for your 48v mics. (though it
nicely fits underneath the recorder)
