Thanks, Greg. Great summary posting. For those around the NYC area this weekend, the Ear to the Earth festival (http://www.eartotheearth.org/php/index.php) is featuring a number of presentations that might be of relevance to participants in this group. I'll be featured on Saturday eve, 8:30P at Judson Memorial Church (southern border of Washington Sq. Park in the Village) along with Andrea Juan on the subject of soundscapes at the poles. Title of my talk will be: "What the Hell is a Polar Bear Doing in Central Park?" Lots of interesting stuff including a connection between thunderstorms at the equator and the voices of Weddell Seals (Antarctic) and Bearded Seals (Arctic). Look forward to meeting those who can attend. It's a terrific group led by Joel Chadabe (NYU).
