Gianni, thanks for the correction. Firmware update 1.3.3 added an auto-split capability to the original Microtrack 2496. But there is approximately a 5 second delay in starting the second file. That is, 5 seconds of sound is not recorded during the process of closing the first file and starting the second. The new Microtrack II reportedly has the ability to automatically start a new file without losing any sound. This is termed a "seamless file split." The Microtrack II's ability to seamlessly auto-split at 2GB will allow continuous recording at highest resolution (24/96) for up to 4 hours on an 8GB Compactflash card. The internal battery probably won't last more than 4 hours. --oryoki |
