Oryoki, thanks for this informed glimpse of the H2.? From my reading of the=
 manual (haven't had hands on yet), and from your description, I think it's=
 important for users to note that the built-in mikes appear to be arrayed l=
ike a side-address studio mike, not like a more typical end-address handhel=
d mike. To aim the mikes horizontally away from you, you would hold the H2 =
vertically with (depending on which mikes you opt to use) the front or rear=
 of the H2 facing you.



The H2 has an unusual built-in microphone,  It's an array composed of
four small cardiod mics.  The pair of mics facing the front of the
recorder are most sensitive in a 90 degree arc.  The pair facing the
rear best capture a 120 degree arc.   You can select to record in
stereo using either pair.
