The recent discussion about film soundscapes reminded me about something
I've always been curious about: the identity of a bird whose call often
features in films by Akira Kurosawa (and other Japanese film makers).
It's a loud but fluty (fweeeEEE-)whITCH-CHRIT-CHew.
It occurs (for example) at and after ~34m27s into "Sanjuro".
I'm hoping someone knows offhand. If not, I'll try to extract some audio
from the soundtrack.
