I would look into thin fleece.  When in fabric stores on other
projects I've alway considered it pretty transparent when held up to
my ear.  I suppose it depends on how much wind protection you want. 
The fleece may only be good for small wind...like the thin fabric that
lines my Rycote zeppelin.
