I'll put in my fave: Spinrite6 http://www.grc.com I've recovered data from failed drives and trashed OS where re formatting is not an option. Reads all file systems because it's not recovering file formats but 1's and 0's. It'll recovery data, perform HD maintainence, independently scans the HD for defects and re-write the sector table. |
