Hi Klas
I don't mean to be rude, but I don't understand your comments below. I'm no=
t sure which units they refer to.
Are you saying that the mic amp of the MicroTrack is worse than that of the=
MiniDisc MZ RH1? Or worse than the Edirol R 09?
I have read in other forums that the Edirol is noisier than the MicroTrack,=
but I can't find any comparision of these two with the MZ RH1 in terms of =
recorded sound quality.
A few people have emailed me to tell me to stay away from MiniDisc as the f=
ormat is outdated. This, however is of no concern to me as I will be transf=
erring all recordings to CD or hard-drive in AIFF or WAV format and not arc=
hiving anything on MiniDiscs or flashcards themselves - they'll just be the=
interim storage medium.
The debate continues. So far the Handy Zoom H4 has been left by the wayside=
due to some pretty serious problems, and the Edirol R 09 has lost out to t=
he MicroTrack 24/96 because the Edirol has noisier mic amps than the MicroT=
rack.
It remains for Klas (or anyone else) to clarify whether the MiniDisc actual=
ly delivers less noisy recordings than the MicroTrack.

Noisy mic amp, sorry.....It' s barely good enough using our PRO5W, but
with a lower mic output, the noise becomes audible.
Same here, but even worse mic input noise. Otherwise I love it!
Easiest menus and handling of all FC recorders.
