others here who yearn for a more idilic earlier version of the Nature
Recordists group, but it seems to me absolutely on-topic for a group
with such a name. Threads like this are among the main reasons I'm
here. But it's your list, Martyn. You're perfectly free to purge me or
anyone else who you feel has ruined it for you.<<<<<<<

On the contrary, Curt, this is NOT my list, I only moderate it for Doug
(Who's list this belongs to)

I am certainly glad you are a part of this group, I would only "Purge"
people if they became abusive to others or insulting (as what happened
recently) This is a topic that is appropriate to the group and you can
debate it until the cows cone home for all I care.

I just believe you are knocking your heads against a brick wall with the 16
v 24 bit topic..

Yes I record in 24 bit most of the time, NO I cant tell the difference from
a 16 bit and a 24 bit recording made on a good recorder. Its not rocket
science to me, I just believe recording with a GOOD recorder with GOOD
microphones is no comparison between the two..

By-the-way, why do I record with 24 bit? I am asked to by the people I work
for because there is obviously more data for analyzing, simple.
