a short (first) recording...

Subject: a short (first) recording...

I finally had a chance to make a short recording while out on a bird
watching trip to Yellingbo, (near Melbourne, Australia) on the weekend.

It's less than perfect and there is some handling noise evident. The
recording was done with a Sony RH-1, battery powered Audio Technica
AT897 with Rode SM4 shockmount and Dead Cat. I was hand holding the
shockmount and immediately discovered the importance of having the
cable between mic and recorder well isolated from contact.

Anyway this was my first attempt at recording away from a noisy urban
environment, and was an educational experience.

cheers
Paul
