Reviewing the TuneTalk manual online, I have to amend my earlier post. There are circumstances where you can start and stop recording without using the iPod's menu system. I still think a device with dedicated record and pause buttons will be more convenient. Here are two devices that provide power to the iPod and other devices with a USB port.
