1) make a modest size mp3 (<1mb)
2) make sure the file name has no spaces or odd characters like ":"
" /" or other non-number tor non-letter characters in it. Try to
name it so others can get a clue about what it is.
3) The file name must end with the proper extension-- in this case ".mp3"
4) Go to this site:
http://ad2004.hku.nl/index.php
5) enter "nature" for user
6) enter "sound" for Pass
7) click on login
8) click on "browse" button
9) in the window that opens, navigate to and select the sound file
from your computer
10) Click on the Upload button
11) After the upload is finished, click on the "Reload" button and
you should see your file in the alphabetical list
12) On PC, right click the blue link file name for your file and
select, "Copy URL or Copy Link Location or similar) For Mac Control
click on the blue link file name for your file and select, "Copy Link
Location."
13) The URL for your sound file in now in the clipboard, all you need
to do is click in the body of an email and paste it in with PC:
Control +V or Mac: Apple+V.
14) If your email application supports embedded links then the string
that starts with "http..." will become blue and underlined and ready
to click-on. Test sound playback of your uploaded sound file before
posting the email to the list.
15) It doesn't require a "web page" to upload sound files, you just
need a "host" or sever space to upload it to. Its best to buy a
domain name like "geopaul.com" ($20USD) and some file hosting space
on a server (~$10 month or less). Simply uploading files is not that
complicated. If you have a friend that has a domain and the same
computer platform as you, invite them over for dinner.
