We have used the Pignose also. The Dean Markley micro guitar amp gt1000 is also good. It has a clean channel and a distorated one. Most of the small guitar amps are made to distort so the clean channel is a great option. It is about half the weight as the pignose and cost about $30. On the pignose we have one that is entering its third field season of at least 5 months each in Costa Rica and Peru. No problems with it yet. Batteries last forever doing bird songs if you do not leave it on. The pignose does go louder than the Dean Markley but the DM is good for most playback instances. This is our first year using it so we will give a good field report when we are done. Aaron CHECK OUT www.custommarimba.com For marimba, mbira, mallets, and hosho. |
