Here's information about the dimensions of inexpensive field recorders on the market in April, 2007. The data came from the manufacturers' web pages. Each record in the list has five elements: the name of the device, dimensions in mm, volume in cc, weight in grams, and some text describing how the weight was estimated. The records are separated into two groups: Message: 1. Subject: Recorders designed to be hand-held, and Message: 2. Subject: Recorders designed to be carried from the shoulder The two groups are sorted by weight, lightest first. It's OK to copy and post this information elsewhere online, provided that the Naturerecordists group on Yahoo is credited as the source. All comments and corrections are gratefully received. --oryoki |
