I'd take the SD702 and AT825 or VP88. The soundmans have zero tolerance to wind are as noisy, the first makes them weak outdoors and the latter makes them weak for natural ambiences. Money doesn't seem an object here so the AT825 with a Sony RH1 or the Edirol would give you a small portable rig for urban sounds. Some sort of wind protection would be nice... How are you going to offload your CF cards on the road? MD would score there, an SD702 is a little large for stealthy urban recording though otherwise of course the better recorder. If you're after natural rather than urban sounds the Telinga has much going for it and SD702, AT825/VP88 and Telinga lets you cover most bases as long as stealth is not a priority. |
